Even my daughters district was on lockdown. I guess every school in the county goes on lockdown if anything happens.

No link. Most of the shit that happens in the bowels of that shit hole dont even get reported, Joe. I only know things because I have friends who are both on again off again junkies and friends who are paramedics in Wayne county.

I couldn't prove that elderly people were dying of heart attacks at home because they were too afraid to go to the ER and get exposed to Covid when it first hit.....but I know they were.

There is a big world operating beyond the media spotlight. I know we all know that (at least I hope we do) but its pays to try to keep that perspective. These days when I see things like shootings get reported my first question is "why is this one getting attention?"

Well the majority of the homeless women on the streets in Detroit are addicts and some are being trafficked.

When I lived in the metro area I used to go out with an outreach that was for these women. Just handing them food(like bagged lunches....sandwiches), some hygiene products. Clothes. Et. And you build relationships with them and try to get them to trust you enough to leave the streets with you so they can get help. They often want you to pray with them and for them.

A handful of the women I was in my program with came to the mission that way.

There are plenty of resources for them when they are ready to leave that life.

There is a man who goes down there and talks to them and builds relationships with them and he video interviews them, and people on his channel will help them with clothing and food...et. And if/when they want the help, he will get them in touch with those resources that will help them.

You cant really get them off the streets until they want to leave. Sadly. You have to kinda get that out of your head and just sit with them. Let them know they are valuable and cared about. Many of them feel unworthy of bothering.

I know the woman in the first video. Shes a very wonderful human being ♡ shes suffered a lot of abuse and shes a very warm and generous person.

I have actual ptsd because i was assaulted in Detroit. I have never lived IN Detroit. I lived in the metro area.

There are very nice parts of Michigan. I live a much smaller town out away from the metro area and I love it. Most of the state is beautiful. I've also lived on the gulf coast in MS, New Orleans and Mobile....I lived in FL for a few years as well. Briefly NY.

I definately feel safe, Joe. That would change if my right to be armed and defend myself was taken away though.....and taken by the captains of places like Detroit and Chicago. Pretty much all the violent crime here takes place in Detroit, Flint and Pontiac. All our blue AF inner cities. Go figure?
