this is an old buoy inspector boat , restored , placed in a park in a Village on the Hudson River , NY ...on display near a lock in upstate NY ...Chief likes this ship ...he doesn't even mark it .. we go there often

The blood moon we had about two months ago reignited my astronomy interest and I've had a few spontaneous mini "star parties" since then when it hasn't been so cold out.

The reason there's so many scopes is to keep people from crowding around one eyepiece and clunking heads in the dark. (believe me, it happens).

Here's my largest refractor (120mm) next to my humble 80mm "grab 'n' go".

I'm no photographer but these are reasonably easy targets that are bright and don't need extended exposure times.
The Orion nebula.

The Andromeda galaxy.
