Will the Democrats soon be locked out of power?

If Biden was a Republican doing all this same shit my criticisms of him would be exactly the same.

When I had the choice between Obama and Romney(2012)....I didnt even vote.

It just so happens that lately it's mostly people labeled Republican who are doing the thing that aligns more with my values. When a democrat is doing that I give them credit. Like Tulsi Gabbart. Shes had policies I dont agree with but she puts the health of America first.

Those Democrats who had a bill to stop politicains from participating in the stock market.....I agreed with that shit.

It's not the labels I root for at all. Its action and rhetoric. I support anyone who is invested in American values that we should all have as a foundation. Right now we have a whole ass cult that hates individual rights and liberties and is out to knock those rights down and fundamentally change the country into an authoritarian shit hole.

Of course those people are gonna weedle in on the backs of the party that is more "popular".

For the good of our country we can only hope.

Irony is, the same people who are prepared to vote out the Democrats won't be too pleased when the Republicans get back in either.

Right Wing governments tend to be more hardliners & unforgiving. So they'll be in a rude shock when their favorite social programs get cut or their own peoples get targeted for mass deportation.

I suspect the same sorta thing might happen in Canada too. The Liberals are in power here til 2025. But there's a good chance they'll be swept out of power and replaced with a Conservative government in 3 years.

That's not true at all. That's mostly based on pro establishment propaganda.

Socail programs are up to states mostly. And Republican candidates understand people need an avenue OFF the system and that providing that actually saves money as opposed to what democrats do when they rip people off benefits over shit like a dollar raise.

They are more hardliners over actually convicting rapists and killers and upholding laws. That's not a bad thing. Democrats are letting rapists just walk and go rape more. Crime rates are high. It's not good for the law abiding people.

Voting for party only is what made a huge mess. And also republucans are not all following some rule system on what a "right wing government" is supposed to look like. Right wing is for small government and upholding laws that protect our rights and liberties.

States like CA can keep their shitty blue governments all they want. They are the ones who have to live in it.

Social programs dont get cut without a LOT of scrutiny. Implementation of new ones might. My source in Illinois State Government tells me every time a program is voted to be cut, it goes before a court and the courts rule that it cannot be cut.

I think the Democrats did this to themselves.

They had a mandate in 2020 & they blew it.

When Biden cancelled that Keystone pipeline I thought uh oh. 1st mistake. And the Democrats will pay dearly for a rash decision like that.

The schools are a much bigger blight on them than any one wants to admit as well.

Fucking with kids and gaslighting the public didnt win them any favor.

Hey retard, is your troll shtick being as wrong as possible? 50/50 senate = not a mandate.
12 member majority in the house = not a mandate
a Presidential election that appears fraudulent AF = not a mandate

Hopefully.

I mean we have talked about their big mistakes. I dont know if people like that can do any better.

I guess from their standpoint, the Democrats had better get as much done from now until November because if they lose Congress they're pretty much lame duck after that.

Seems they pissed off a lot of Americans.

I thought their biggest mistake was taking their Eye offa the Ball & neglecting the importance of Oil to the American economy.

They had no transition plan & someone like Joe Manchin had warned them from the outset.

Regardless who was in power, the US was already transitioning to alternative Energy.
Even under Trump many solar projects and wind farms were being built.

What do they call the Bernie Bots or the Prog wing of the Democratic Party?

'Liberals in a hurry'?

Totally lacking in common sense.

They didnt make any promises though. They used distorted truths, lies and partisan hate to win.

Now we see that was all they had. I mean their only platform is "fuck Republicans".

They are complete psychos and the people still supporting them are psycho. They are out of wack authoritarians.

Well, since I'm not aligned with either Party, from an objective standpoint I just thought their tactical mistake was trying to ditch Oil from the American Economy way too soon.

that was like throwing out the Baby with the Bathwater.

They let the AOC's rather than Centrists like Joe Manchin run their Energy policy.

It's not really people are "aligned" with a party. Parties are supposed to align with the people.....not the other way around. Democrats did that in reverse and want the people to align with them. So they ruthlessly attack opposition rather than building a platform that benefits the people.

I'm hoping it's obvious they are not for the people. And not all Republicans are either. Trumps big appeal was that he spoke what all of us were already thinking. Had he ran Democrat he would have still won. It's not about labels.

When dems try to do what the people want.....we end up with that nightmare Afganistan exist which I'm SURE pissed off a lot of people.

No matter which Party was in power, the exit from Afghanistan would have been messy. Perhaps the incident where 13 American soldiers died outside the Kabul airport could have been prevented. Otherwise it still would have been chaos if Trump had been President. military pullouts are rarely orderly and smooth in war zones.

Aghanistsan is still a mess. Little wonder the US & it's allies are willing to roll out the red carpet for the Ukrainians but they don't want Afghan refugees.

I dont agree at all. There was a way to do that without the mess and without leaving 8 billion worth of weapons and equipment, Joe.

They brought Afgan refugees. Why would we bring more when we spent money for over a decade trying to assimilate them to a democracy to no avail?

In which case the US would have had to extend their stay in Afghanistan to get everyone & everything out possible. Maybe by another year?

I don't blame Biden for the stragglers who intentionally stayed beyond the recommended time line & then begged the USA to airlift them out. That wasnt his fault. A lot of those so called Americans were naturalized citizens originally from Afghanistan.

Biden did it very fast and did it against the advice of his military intelligence people.

It would have been better to stay another year and exit more orderly. And those people didnt CHOSE to stay, Joe. They didnt even know. So yes he straight up ditched people there. They didnt have the ability to get to the airport fast enough. He could have had those people brought to the airport.

Trump was planning the exit. Biden should have followed whatever plan the previous administration had. Maybe tweaked it as nessesary.

He didnt even get our equipment and weapons out of there. That's incredibley stupid and bad for America.

I mean sure perhaps any exit would have been messy. But he could have worked out a better plan than what he did.

Ann Coulter slithered out of whatever hole she had been hibernating in to do an interview a few months ago and I never wanted to punch her more than when she said "well Biden got us out of Afganistan, Trump didnt do that". Shes unrealistic and a cunt.

But Trump would have had to stay longer than he had initially promised to achieve a more successful pullout.

And your US state department warned many 'American' stragglers at least 6 months prior of the impending pullout but many would not leave. And they would have done the same thing if Trump had been in office too.

Not everything was Biden's fault.

Biden didn't even inform our NATO allies or the Afghan government that he was pulling out. He literally had them leave in the dead of night and abandoned all of our allies. Worse, no forethought was used at all. If you are going to evacuate then you need airport's but he abandon those first. It was an epic fuck up of historic proportions by the fucking potato.

Hopefully.

Yes according to your Constitution 50 50 is a mandate with the Vice President holding the tie breaking vote. The Republicans in your country have used this arrangement to their advantage as well.

Do you not understand your own Constitution Lokmeer?

Wanting and doing are not the same. From carefully watching Trump for 6 years, Trump would have taken the L to exit properly before just up and doing it ditching allis and leaving all that equipment and weapons.

Even if Trump had taken care of the evacuation better it still wouldn't have been perfect. How can there be a perfect withdrawal in a war zone?

Plus you had the problem of Afghanistan s own army betraying the US and in all probability selling all those expensive arms to the Taliban. Even if Trump had retrieved or gotten more weapons out of Aghanistsan the US would have ended up leaving much it behind because I suspect the Afghan army was stealing it from you guys.

WRONG! Trump would have handled it much much different and if the ragheads would have killed our guys while Trump was President, He'd have butchered the taliban and stayed longer!

And that's what military warhawks wanted. That America stay longer. In fact forever until your nations coffers were bled dry.

Yknow since China has started to make its presence felt in the region, now the Taliban is attacking & beheading their people @Lokmar.

So it doesn't matter who goes in there. That place is ungovernable. If the next colonizer wants to be more successful than the USA was they basically have to go in there with an iron fist and drop atom bombs on the place to make it a radioactive dust heap. That's the only way for China to make Afghanistan 'governable' Lokmeer.
I could govern it. I'd declare islam a capital crime and blown up every mosque in the country. Then I'd put every islamic cunt to the sword. Christianity would be the only acceptable form of worship. I'd executed self proclaimed atheists too. Problem solved.

Taliban will just turn its guns on China

China is just gonna replace America as Public Enemy #1 for the Taliban.
China had better watch its back...they're next @Lokmar! Especially if they don't pay off those Warlords, eh?

....and is there still enough time to correct at least some of them?

What have they gotten right or done well in?

Or are they 'done like dinner' come November?

I think they're losing in the fall. We have a history and this change has been happening pretty repeatedly.
Then it will swing back again.

I think the Republicans will become power hungry and it'll get to their heads and they'll go too far.

So once American voters get a taste what's in store, they'll scare a lot of them in off in 2024.

Most Americans want a moderate mild mannered guy like Glenn Youngkin, but much of the Republican base wants to see the return of Trump Trump Trump!

Both parties are power hungry. Republicans are simply willing to sell out the country in a way that I never thought possible.

The agreement was the Taliban stops its attacks and in return the US leaves. That fact is the Taliban never upheld its end of the bargain. Fact.

I think the Democrats did this to themselves.

They had a mandate in 2020 & they blew it.

When Biden cancelled that Keystone pipeline I thought uh oh. 1st mistake. And the Democrats will pay dearly for a rash decision like that.
Hey retard, is your troll shtick being as wrong as possible? 50/50 senate = not a mandate.
12 member majority in the house = not a mandate
a Presidential election that appears fraudulent AF = not a mandate

Yes according to your Constitution 50 50 is a mandate with the Vice President holding the tie breaking vote. The Republicans in your country have used this arrangement to their advantage as well.

Do you not understand your own Constitution Lokmeer?
Idiot, the term "mandate" means that voters have voted overwhelmingly for one party control. When the senate is 60/40 split, THATS a fukin mandate, dipshit.

For the good of our country we can only hope.

The progressive wing of the Democratic party was so overjoyed with killing Keystone XL & they saw it as some major victory. But all it forced Biden to do is seek oil imports from other nations at much higher cost. So of course higher energy costs help fuel inflation in the US. Plus the progs also killed hydroelectric projects which could have provided American consumers with lower energy bills. Little wonder that the American voters are basically saying "Off with their heads!"

Idealism has a financial cost. That is one major of the Prog left. They never think that anything they do or promote comes with a price.

And their selfishness & unwilnessness to compromise will likely cost them the only voice they have in Washington.

The schools are a much bigger blight on them than any one wants to admit as well.

Fucking with kids and gaslighting the public didnt win them any favor.

Yeah....like this business of CRT.

Why push this stuff at such a socially divisive time in the US?

It's proponents just won't let go. It's their baby & they'll keep on pushing it even tho it's hurting the Democratic party. Didn't they lose an election over this issue in Virginia?

Like the environmentalists they are determined to have their way even if it ends up bringing down the Democratic party. I haven't seen another time like this when their party is being held hostage to fringe groups to the degree that it is now.

Right?

It's insane and ridiculous.

...if so, what were their biggest mistakes?

....and is there still enough time to correct at least some of them?

What have they gotten right or done well in?

Or are they 'done like dinner' come November?

If they do, we will have a Christian nation that doesn’t support the poor. We will either have to pretend that Jesus was as selfish as we are, or we must acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and the needy without condition and then admit that we just don’t want to.

Well, you people are stupid AF.

My people are not represented by the Democratic party in the US, @Lokmar. Like @Dove has alluded, the Democrats seem to have thrown their traditional working class supporters under the bus by pushing unworkable green economic solutions & a highly divisive CRT agenda which even many Blacks don't support. So they're more concerned about advancing niche ivory tower ideas than producing actual economic gains or results.

Even the Liberal party in Canada isn't that dense. Here they mostly push an agenda to improve living standards for working and middle class families. Methinks the current crop of American Democrats are outta touch & out to lunch

You’re probably right… but I love the beach here and it’s going to be a while before I’m able to start living the Boomer dream of bouncing around tropical destinations living out of a suitcase like Lotus & SM.

The green agenda was first pushed by The Clinton administration… and not soon enough, unfortunately

My childhood friend’s father, Gary Petersen PhD, was the the pioneer of curbside recycling and was appointed by The Clinton Administration as the environmentalist to make people aware of global warming and recycling nationwide.

Lefties are big tree hugging GO GREEN supporters… we want to save the ocean and the bumble bees…Not sure why we are so vehemently hated, but I’m sure it has a lot to do with counter balancing these Rightard loons and their warmonger antics fighting over the last remaining resources on the planet.

Trump signed our death warrant. We will be DOA if we get another righty fascist in office.

However the current energy sources aren't sufficient to power America's economic engine. The US still hasn't transitioned away from traditional energy sources to make that leap to alternative Energy. For that matter neither has Canada. We're not like Norway or Iceland which are now using 80% alternative sources to power their economies. That was a major flaw of the Biden administration. To think they could leap into this brave new world overnight. Plus the cost is very high and more taxes are necessary to support it which most Americans are averse to.

I’m in greater Los Angeles aka Santa Monica. Rolling blackouts and drought has been an issue here since I can remember… especially during the summer months when the temp goes into the high 90s and people are running fans and air conditioners full blast.

Most of my friends have solar. We are installing solar here as soon as we can decide on a roof. My area supports 90%+ reimbursement of the cost advanced for that upgrade.

The biggest overhead expense any of my friends have out here is filling their pool, which you don’t hear “Olympic size” out here unless it’s at a 5 star resort. A pool requires more water and chemicals than anyone would think… so it’s not something I’ll be putting in. We are considering a dunk pool to avoid a full reconveyance on property tax that would be required with a permit pulled for a full blown swimming pool. Also, I’m so close to the beach that we don’t really need it…. So economical is going to win over luxury everyday of the week for me.

I know this veered a little off topic, but energy and efficiency is going to be a greater issue here in the US the more we see people moving to the less desirable areas now that the cost of living is skyrocketing even more post pandemic. Those boondocks areas typically require central air and heat year round.

I am more of a minimalist who has learned to shut her entire house down during the summer days and then opening the bedroom windows at night and using box fans to keep the house cool. I also do not run household appliances during peak hours.

I am part of the solution, not the problem.
