I had all kinds of fun writing my own mIRC scripts.
I'd run an instance of mIRC as a sort of bot alongside the instance I was actually using; the "bot" had triggers and autoresponses and could automatically /op certain people when they entered, etc.

I enjoyed that stuff at least as much as the chatting itself.
