I'm just here as the elucidating nerd

The fear of criticism, also known as enochlophobia or atychiphobia, is a common anxiety that can significantly impact a person's life. It involves an intense and irrational fear of being negatively evaluated by others. This fear can lead to avoidance of social situations, difficulty making decisions, and a general sense of inadequacy and low self-esteem.

Whose been crying this time?

I think it's obvious when certain poasters are usually a reliable daily source of content and suddenly go signal dark. They may not be crying out here in public however it's a safe assumption they're in a dark corner somewhere bawling their little beadies out.

Not even juice boxes and naps can fix them this time.

...an irrational fear of NegReps?
Because some of you need to be diagnosed and treated, like, yesterday.

Come on out y'all.
The NegReps can't actually hurt you.
I give Wrench Reps to people who try to correct their posts in the shoutbox too many times. I see it in the 1,000,000 Post Thread. I'd like to smack 'em upside the head with a large wrench.

I don't know whom this is about, but when the universe keeps sending the same message some people start paying attention.

Unfortunately, malice cannot be beat. It can only, to one's best ability, be avoided.

When one stops exchanging posts with malicious actors, posting drops precipitously.

What used to be fun isn't when one realizes how deranged people are and that it isn't just a game, but actual hate.

So, yeah, these people and those who crticize walking away from crazy, can go pound sand.

Yeah good okay.
But from here atop my high horse which is standing on a soapbox at the apex of an ivory tower it's somewhat suspicious when anyone "walking away from crazy" equates to a sudden and near-complete absence generally. Does that mean the only interactions that person had were negative exchanges with others?

That doesn't sound entirely like a "those people" problem.

Just sayin'.

I don't see it the same way you do. I keep posting, in the sb and in politics.

I don't see.the problem. At least it's not a problem for me.

My perspective is as someone whose primary (damn near exclusive) interest is in Meltdown. My comments shouldn't be interpreted as opining on other subs or the shoutbox unless I mention them specifically because I admittedly know fuckall about what's going on elsewhere in the forum... unless someone else brings a discussion of that stuff into Meltdown.

If you want to boycott Meltdown it's none of my business and have fun with that.

But: given the nature of Meltdown (and my own mischievous inclinations) don't act surprised if I or anyone else uses the situation to create a little entertainment. Or *do* act surprised, actually; that could be even more fun.

I'm not surprised with anything I see in meltdown.

Interesting that it's not moving along with all those that are dedicated to it, though.

Hmm.
I'm constantly surprised and occasionally horrified by things I see people poast.

I reckon maybe I'm not as much of a misanthrope as I should be?

Interesting that it's not moving along with all those that are dedicated to it, though.

Personally that's a sticky wicket for sure; do I increase my own participation to somewhat offset the deserters even though I'm loathe to do @BF any favors? Tough call.

Perhaps I'll try to find an acceptable middle ground... like, oh, starting another thread laughing about the NegRep debacle among other things. Yeah, that might work.

I truly don't care about the neg rep. But, in the event your OP was at all related to me, all I wanted to do is express my reasons for cutting down my posting here.

There's another reason I stop hanging out in MD. Same insults and fights day after day.

It's slow sb.

I wouldn't call the OP "aimed" at anyone.
More of a blunderbuss than a laser, innit.
The pellets land where they land and hit whomever they hit.

The potential lulz in no way rely on silly things like "accuracy".
I'll leave that up to the folks for whom trolling is the air they breathe and the waters in which they swim.

I'm like The Joker in that respect-
I don't have plans; I just *do* things.

There's another reason I stop hanging out in MD. Same insults and fights day after day.

Right right right.
But... if you didn't keep holding up your end they'd just be talking to themselves.

Or, as we can see, won't be talking much at all.
Which still puts you all in the same ball park if not the same game.
It can look very much like a distinction without a difference.

It's slow sb.

Eww!
Take that back!
Shoutbox... *ptoo!*
