My father's side is german, they came here in the early 1940's, but they never spoke much of the family back in Germany

I don't know for sure if my father's side had anything to do with the reich, but the silence they always kept made me think a lot

I would think they were trying to get away from the reich if they left in the early 40s. Maybe didn't talk about it because they were afraid still.
