An 'official economy' driven by corporations & an underground economy driven by people who use barter alternate currencies to avoid the official one.

However this will be a problem for governments since fewer workers also equals fewer tax revenues.

If people pay fewer taxes because they are resorting to barter they won't pay taxes either.

so while automation makes sense in the short term it might not long term & essentially there is no economy anymore like we've known it.
