The souvlaki wraps are amazing. They're loaded with meat, lettuce, onions, (tomatoes usually) and even fries stuffed in there. You're full after eating one for 3.80 euros

red meat is rather scarce in Greece as there aren't any cow farms, everything is imported, therefore very expensive and good beef cuts are hard to find or are REALLY expensive as in more than in the US

I'm not a big fan of red meat, except for this ground mix I sometimes find at the market, beef, pork, and lamb. It's super flavorful and also very high fat. Makes ghreat meatballs, or any stew like dish.

and sort of related, a typical meal in Greece at a nice restaurant is maybe 50 euros for 2 people with a drink and dessert

When it comes to money, living in Greece is like reverse inflation going back 10 years with the notable exceptions being gas prices and groceries are similar to US (but not going out to eat)

Had a plumber here unclogging a main line he worked for 2 hours. 50 euros. Furnace guy was here a couple of hours replaced an oil line, cleaned, serviced the burner replaced the nozzle, 60 euros. Electrician repaired outside lights and 2 transformers, about 100 euros
