There's a type of tree around here, full of thorns, a real pain in the ass, it behaves as a tree, a weed and a vine at the same time

how about those prickly weeds, with the softish stems, they seem innocent enough but when you grab them barehanded they stink like a mother fucker

or better yet if the weeds aren't mixed with desirables, then spray it with weedkiller

but weedkiller doesn't work on vinelike weeds that lack broad leaves

The roots are all over the place, it grows in areas with rocks underneath

but usually vinelike weeds can be pulled from the ground along with a good amount of root

yeah you gotta just grab what you can sometimes you can get several feet of root

This one you have to keep cutting the shoots wherever you find them

you'll never win the war but you can win enough small battles to keep it in check

ok well then maybe you can't pull it by the roots then

And split the roots with a machete when they're closer to the surface

groundcover is your friend

if the root breaks the surface and doesn't find any light it doesn't get far

the secret is keep cutting the shoots from the main trunk, eventually it'll die
