I had all the original Smurf figurines from the 70's and really early 80's plus the Captain Caveman merch.... the Smurfs were soft so for some reason or another me and my brothers chewed the heads off them for shits and giggles. In 1991 a girlfriend showed me her collection and was like "those aren't worth much but THIS one and THIS one are worth 1500 USD"... I was like motherfucker. I chewed up 10k! ....

I don't know what 10k then is worth now... but 10k then for a teenager was life-changing. We'd buy old 60's and 70's cars that nobody wanted, abuse them, wreck them.....and now I see how much those cars I had were worth.... life-changing for many adults.

they sell for a lotbin Canada too & have a high demand here i suppose because they were the predecessor of Marvel comic books
