Sometimes programs work better on 7 than 10. Performance is generally more sluggish on 10than 7

I was in a car on the way to Philadelphia to see Gov't Mule. The show was cancelled. Two hours in a car and in traffic and getting into the city. And walking around the city ... my social anxiety disorder was out of control.

Well, I was an amateur and didn't know any better so to me it was awesome. :Happy5:

MS made a habit of alternating between good OSs and trashy ones

It started with Windows 95, which was kinda bad for being full of new features that didn't work well, like plug and play but it was pretty different from 3.11, so it gets a pass

98 was ok, ME was shit, XP was great, Vista was trash, 7 was great, 8 was garbage, then came Windows 10 which was good and now, W11, which is completely big brother-infused trash.

But I'll never forget how much fun I had with it, I'd stay up until 3 AM fiddling with those diskettes, messing with software trying to learn them. heck, I'd have fun messing with spreadsheets, learning those formulas and whatnot, it was called "Supercalc" back then

I guess then it's all about how good the programmers are.

What Are Minimum And Recommended Desktop Configurations For Game Development?

Ideally, you should work with a minimum desktop configuration that meets your requirements. Developing 2D games can be done with an old PC. But if you are working on a 3D game, you should invest in a more powerful machine. If you have not worked on games before, you should consider upgrading to a gaming-specific desktop, which will have the highest CPU, storage, and graphics speed.

You don’t need to have the latest and greatest gaming hardware to develop games. A basic desktop is sufficient. Moreover, you should choose a desktop that features the latest graphics and audio drivers. Moreover, a gaming-specific CPU can increase the speed of compiling. Generally, a PC with the right specs can run game development software much faster than a machine with a lower specification.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Processor: AMD processor or Core i5
  • GPU: GTX 1660 Super or better graphics card
  • RAM: 8GB or more
  • Storage: 512GB SSD or more

Recommended System Requirements

  • Processor: Ryzen 7 processor or Core i7
  • GPU: GTX RTX 2060 or better graphics card
  • RAM: 16GB or more
  • Storage: 1TB SSD or more

If you're going to develop the next AAA title on something like Unreal Engine 5.1, you're gonna need a pretty beefy computer, especially if you're going to be doing the graphics design
