Here is how reality works in "my world" my hopes, dreams and political preferences have absolutely zero to do with science.

Covid 19 is novel. We have never been exposed before. We have no solid knowledge on how to treat it(well had we have come far and fast).
There was evidence back in 2005 that chloroquine improved the symptoms of SARS patients. Covid 19 is like....the second SARS. But while Covid is far more infectious....its not nearly as deadly as SARS or MERS.....thank fuck for that.
So if it showed some evidence of helping the symptoms of SARS patients and doctors overseas were using it and saying they believed it showed promise.....why was it so offensive that Trump said it showed promise? How is that not a good thing, Admin?
There is no reason at all that this should have been attacked.
If your political preferences have nothing to do with science......doesnt it bother and offend you that a few governors actually stepped into the medical field, went over the expertise of doctors, and threatened to pull their liscence if they used it for early treatment of Covid? Because that happened, and it was horrifying.
During a pandemic of a novel virus.....governors took it upon themselves to stop doctors from practicing medicine. Stopped doctors from doing what doctors do. This how science WORKS. Off label use of meds has given us such advancements in treatment options for a plethora of disease, conditions, even boners(viagra is actually a heart medication with a rather pleasant side effect)
Now dont you find that far more disgusting and offensive and authoritarian......then Trump saying it showed promise? What's wrong with having hope and building on the evidence that was shown years ago?
And why on earth are you being so smug over this? No one ever said it was miracle cure. Viruses cannot be cured. And I've seen the Trump haters say this over and over because they dont even know that a virus cannot be cured.
And they grab articles and make claims that just are not what's being said. We all know that the meds have shown no improvement in hospitalized patients. Its shown a lower risk of ending up hospitalized if given early on.
Does that mean we KNOW it works and that those people were just not going to developed a severe case? Nope. But it means we should continue research.
