Yes, we are. And U.S. history is inextricably bound to world history. Because when the world comes here, the world brings world history with it.

If you DGAF about it, it's baffling that you brought it up.

About world history in the context of US history...how far back do you want to go?

You're obfuscating...as is your wont.

That isn't the point at all. If this is a free speech board everyone gets to speak.
Yes, even the morons and idiots, I was merely conjecturing that morons and idiots should have to pass a competency test to poast in the internets. I also think everyone should pass a test to cast a ballot in an election. But unfortunately stupid people have the right to voate and are the primary constituency of the Democrat Party.

How's the air up there? Are these extra "a's" a thing or is that a mild ebonics resonance?

I get it. In your hyperpartisan mind, anyone who didn't vote for Cackles automatically had to have voted for Biff Tannen. Grow up.

Or: The moderate left (while such a thing still existed) genuinely were liberal, but the illiberal fringe of the left appropriated the word and self-identified with it while spectacularly failing to live up to it.
You are so confused. There are very few actual liberals left in the USA. There are centrists (who are now called liberals by you hysterics), conservatives, and radical conservatives -- the MAGAts. The true liberals are the people you hysterics now call "communists." You don't even know what a communist is, though. I live in a country that has an actual, legitimate communist party. The socialists are considered moderate liberals here.

...but you voted for Trump/Musk though, right?
...and, I wrote that it will be a dilemma for the lemmings. Why did you react in such a personal way as though you were being directly affronted? Is it my understanding that YOU are trying to also claim to be an anti-LibiCon, freethinking person?...because no such person is a conservative or can be. Are you not a conservative?
Another explicit demonstration of your TDS affliction…..LOL

From the article…..

“This piece from Sanders comes as President-elect Trump has selected

to join his administration and after many Democrats,

, slammed Musk for opposing the bipartisan deal to avoid government shutdown, which faltered due to Trump allies’ opposition. Some have pointed to the latter as an example of the

in Washington”

In comparison, how much practical experience does the average Congressman or Senator have in ever building a business or enterprise? Not much really.

“Throughout the op-ed, Sanders ripped the campaign finance system, which he regularly brings up, as well as the “inadequate” health care system and billionaire’s ownership of social media platforms, such as Facebook, X and Truth Social.”

Is this the same campaign system that allowed $2B to be squandered in just a few months?

“It is estimated that six huge media corporations now own 90 percent of what the American people see, hear and read,” he wrote. “This handful of corporations determines what is ‘important’ and what we discuss, and what is ‘unimportant’ and what we ignore.”

Ahh yes…..it’s called the MSM……..and has suited the purposes of him and his ilk quite well…….talk about biting the hand that feeds you…..LOL.

“In his Gettysburg Address in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln spoke about ‘a government of the people, by the people, for the people.’ Well, today, we have a government of the billionaire class, by the billionaire class, for the billionaire class,” he added.

My father once was threatened with contempt of court for stating the country has become “for the lawyers, by the judges and screw the people“ after a local judge opened the court as a forum to comment on some piece of judicial activism ruling that occured. He was not far off as the government assigns regulations that affect millions each day, and most of the leaders have spent their entire careers working in law of some government entity. Politics should not be a career, but an excersize of service.

Not a big Bernie fan because as much as he squawks in pieces like these he has taken care of Bernie as well. Add up the accumulation of grift by politicians and you could rival what he laments each mogul of possessing.

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

And don’t forget it it the people that made these men what they are……..drinking the green deal koolaid leading to Musk’s domination of the electric vehicle market, Bezos with catering to the worlds lust for cheap and accessible goods and Zuckerberg so folk could queef, moan and share what the had for breakfast or what color socks they are wearing. That part is most often ignored.

There has been a perpetual discrepancy in the wealth possessed by some, vs others since Man has learned to write things down.

What an absolute bullshit mentality. You know how much shit Irish immigrants were put through in this country? Italians? Everybody got rough treatment.

Everybody "got otherized" -- not everybody put in the work to get past it.
Oh. My. God. You are one arrogant, soulless, compassionless POS. Try walking 500 feet in some of those "others" shoes and see how you manage. You'd be toast in a hot minute, Mr I'm So Much Better Than You.

This is why I left the Democratic Party Too many of them are selling out the country along with the CONS.
Dishing out $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the already ultra wealthy.

You know where that's headed.

More homelessness, people without healthcare. Seniors who can't afford their medication.

And yet there are many in the States who cheer on that agenda.

That's rich, coming from you.
I walk that road Every. Fucking. Day.

I get $1,112 every month for a visual disability when median rent even in a tiny-ass has-been town on Route 66 is $1,500 plus, while hordes of hostile foreign-born invaders get, in some cases, fucking luxury accommodations, everything they need paid for, and walking-around money besides that.

While government employees, who are every bit as "on the dole" as I am make five and six figures a year to engage in fucking blatant money laundering, throwing away obscene sums at absurd shit and pocketing huge chunks of that profligate largesse, then "donating" the rest back to the corrupted system that sustains the scheme.

I go consecutive days without eating because the system I spent twenty years paying into, whether I wanted to or not, rewards lifetime grifting bureaucrats while shafting the tax cattle it holds captive via threatens with imprisonment for non-compliance, then wastes its stolen loot by giving it away to Ukraine, or Israel, or any other of a dozen fucking countries instead of helping its own people.

So Do Not Fucking Try to guilt-trip me over 'compassion.

You're not the one to speak on it while you defend the grift, and I am not the one for you to speak to on it.

"My people" are not white people. "My people" are not conservatives or traditionalists. "My people" are American citizens, who are given no fucking choice when it comes to whether or not they pay into the system. And, no, just FYI, "Pay or go to prison", escalated to, "Go to prison or we'll murder you for resisting," is Not a fucking choice.

The "social contract" is a lie. If you never voluntarily opt into it, and can't safely opt out of it, it is not a "contract.

So I don't think it's too much to fucking ask that the lie of the "social contract" by sold by the government actually holding up their end of it.

To do that requires a clean system. One where the money isn't wasted on offensively, cartoonishly insane shit, and where Americans who were forced, from the very beginning of their working lives to wherever they happen to be now, are getting their labor's worth back when they need it.

I want to hear Bernie genuinely tell that like it is. And I'll support anybody who does. Misfortunately for us all, right now, that includes Donald Trump and his circle. Nobody else has the honesty and the balls to do it.

And you think TRUMP is going to make your life better? Are you fucking kidding me?

WHO here is defending the grift????????????

Honestly, let me know when your benefits increase to a livable amount because of something Trump does. Also let me know when he does something that makes rents more affordable.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but government workers and undocumented workers are NOT the reason your benefits are so low and rents are so high.

You are, no matter how many question marks you slather on top of that disingenuous question.

I don't want or need my benefits to increase to a livable amount. What I do want is for prospective clientele to have their disposable incomes increase to the point where they feel comfortable fucking hiring me. And that absolutely fucking happened in Trump's first term and hopefully will again.

Price directly correlates to scarcity. More demand leads to more scarcity leads to higher prices. Peddle your bullshit to somebody as gullible as you are.

If you think you're going to get a new, higher paying job with TRUMP in the WH, and the job market being flooded with fired workers, if you actually think employers aren't going to take advantage of that and lower wages, you seriously have some flawed logic at work there, pal.

Again, what grift am I supporting? Try some honestly for a second.
