Occasionally while browsing around I've heard mention of this place. Was it some sort of giant troll forum or something? Was it a trolling competition board? Prizes for stuff?

From what I gather ,the forum specialized in one on one flame challenges, wherein each contestant accused the other of sucking cocks until one of them passed out, or turned ghey.

I was there when Jewdozer was there and got a red ribbon when I made him a new avatar with MSN paint but he did not use it and he made that Christmas present to me msnpaint that is in the award archives but the way back machine does not show it. He was doing Charlie Hebo type cartoons about the Muslim religion before Charlie Hebo was...he was from Germany I am pretty sure. I left when the place lost EB and was going downhill and joined a Guild on WOW and mainly did PVP and raids.

In my opinion? No.
Only "stories" from one particular perspective or another.
For my part, I mostly remember its very earliest days on I think it may have been a brand-spanking new phpBB platform, or maybe even a FrontPage framework? At any rate it was *not* stable; another poaster called EvilBlood and I managed to crash it just by the sheer weight of a few Quote/Response exchanges. I mean yeah, it was fair-sized chunks of text being poasted back and forth there at the end but modern forum code wouldn't even blink at that much verbiage much less implode.
I wasn't a constant presence though... I tended to drift in and out over the years, mostly out with a few stints of varying length back in. It could be fun; I contributed one "chapter" to a collaborative story flame that I rather enjoyed. In its latter days a lot was the chest-thumping adjective-laden bloviating that most people think of as "flaming" now, and I just couldn't be bothered.

There were some funny and talented posters their but it suffered specific problems.
1 Flaming/humour was treated as a team event so you quite often got the shittiest posters winning/receiving most praise.
2 The owner developed an insular culture of the "Dont populate other forums as they are not as good and it will drag you down" variety. Truth is it was far from the best place to be so consequentially a lot of posters there developed a type of Stockholm Syndrome.
3 Because of the above 2 reasons back stabbing and scandals were rife. 1 mod dumped the entire main forum into usenet which revealed the viewer/people online atm counters were rigged.
4 The webmaster was also a tyrannical control freak demanding everyone stay on message and was paranoid about other forums having assets in the mod room(which they did given the constant leaks).

My first 'social media' experience was Usenet.
Specifically the alt.* hierarchy of newsgroups.
After that, even a forum like BrawlHall was fairly tame in comparison.

when i started on the netz on the dating site datehookup.com their forums were so vicious. death threats from cray cray bitches, niggers, and whattchamycallits in the forums or pm's. people tracking me down and posting all my info in the threads or many others. this was between 2006-2012-3 til the owner said enough is enough killed it

My first computer was a Dell Inspiron Desktop loaded with Windows Vista. The only reason I wanted a computer was to burn music, movies etc. It's the same way now with very few exceptions so that's probably why I've never heard of so many sites mentioned here. Alty is all about leisure.

I was on bloodydisgusting.com in most of that time period. Besides datehookup's forum. I think.. oh and the YNC roughly the same time period.
