I has to face my fears a week ago... I was laying in a hot bathtub in the early hours of the morning and heard what I thought was a 12 gauge blast. I laid there a bit longer thinking "shit, there is still some light filtering through my kitchen blinds"... a minute later, another boom but different.

So I threw on a Bonds singlet, jeans with no daks, and a pair of thongs on my waterlogged feet.... and ran up the street towards the sound.

Only to realize fire engines were arriving on scene to put out a fire which spread to petrol cannisters.

It wasn't my fear in the end, but it sounded like it to start.

I was raised Catholic, took all the sacraments as a little girl and I’m confirmed. I’m more spiritual than anything… but I don’t have any issue with people who reject religion. I only have an issue with religious extremists who try to force feed their religion on you, try to get you to convert, or tell anyone they are wrong for what they believe.

Two and a half years ago. A belligerent resident hopped up on meth. To be fair, he wasn't exactly aware of what he was doing. It took three of us to bring him down to the floor in the hallway. He continued to struggle and scream (about spiders in his hair) until the cops and the ambulance showed up.
