At least you got the Ultra Resort Room with 850 ft2. Is the resort fee included? It looks like the resort fee and tax isn't included.

Same nights but at The Gold Nugget downtown in the Rush Tower (their newest tower) corner suite (only 611 ft2 so smaller than yours) is $278 for all three nights with Veteran discount though the resort fees add $29.95 per night and then there is tax. That is through their website so probably cheaper if booked on the discount websites though if you plan on gambling they can only comp your room or give you a free upgrade if you book directly through them. That is where I'd stay as I am more of a downtown sort of guy these days. For the strip you got the best deal though given the size (850ft2) and location on strip.

Downtown the best gambling rules and fastest comps are at the Golden Nugget, Fremont Casino, and Golden Gate. The D is a dump to stay at but they supposedly hand out comps to just about everyone. Free drinks, free food, free hotel stays. If someone here is looking to do Vegas on the cheap than the D ($26 per night plus $29.95 resort fee) or the 4 Queens ($39 per night no resort fees) are as cheap as it gets.

I really like the Studio B Buffet at the M Resort (off strip casino) because they have a good seafood buffet for $39.95 but when you sign up for a player's club card you get 50% off automatically. Oh, did I mention it includes all you can drink beer and wine? They don't have lobster but they do have snow crab and a bunch of other stuff like whole roasted pig, prime rib, brisket, and a good selection of seafood. Not bad for $20.

Everyone else always talks about the AYCE Buffet at The Palms or the Baccannal Buffet at Ceasars. Those two are nice (AYCE is even a good value on weekday lunches) but there are good buffets which are better values.

Are you from Vegas Oerdin?

San Diego so Vegas is just up the I15 from me. My parents would take us starting around age 6 once or twice per year and since turning 21 everyone would go once or twice a year to party. There is always something new, it makes an easy getaway, and done correctly you don't have to spend a lot of money. Sure, if you only eat at the fanciest places and the most expensive hotels or gamble at the places with the bad odds/rules then you can lose a lot fast but it doesn't have to be that way.

I have money to spend but still don't see why I should pay $800-$900 for rooms when you can get pretty nice ones for 1/3 that amount. Hell, truthfully, as I am married with kids we'd probably just stay with my brother in law (who lives in Vegas) and skip the hotel scene. If you're single and want nightlife or hookups though then Vegas is the place for you.

Like I said, these days I'm married and not looking to impress anyone plus I'd be paying for four (wife and two kids) we'd do one nice dinner without the kids on a weekend and the rest would be buffets or cheap eats like Tacos El Gordo or Earl of Sandwich or the dinner specials at the Fremont Hotel. No trip to Vegas is complete without a stop at Ellis Island Casino for the cheap house beer and discount smoked BBQ.

Another review of Studio B at The M. He spoke about ordering a martini and got a glass of champagne so I guess it is a full open bar and not just beer and wine.

A review of The Golden Nugget. As we have kids the pool with the three story tall water slide and the shark aquarium would be big attractions for the kids. The video game arcade on Fremont would also be something which would keep the kids busy. The buffet and restaurants at the Golden Nugget have always seemed a pass for me due to high prices and only so so food but they are quick with the upgrades or comps and that is worth something. The $3.99 half pound foot long hotdog and drink deal would be something the kids would happily go for.

As you are already on Fremont street there is a ton to do at the Freemont Street Experience, the Mafia museum, the New Circa Casino (no kids allowed there though) and more than a dozen famous old school Las Vegas casinos. The Container Park is close by to. For cheap but tasty eats the Fremont hotel has all the good deals; $8.99 prime rib dinners, $12.99 lobster and steak dinners, $0.99 shrimp cocktails, $1 margaritas ($1 more and they will double the alcohol for you), and if that isn't enough one of the bars has $0.50 domestic beers during happy hour. Old Vegas may have died on the strip but it is alive and well downtown as well as on the off strip casinos.

You winning all that cash on Keno and then losing it all an hour later on roulette?
Like you telling every pit boss we came across that you 'want clocks put up within the hour or its someone's ass'?
The food fight you and that guy started at Tropicana buffet?
Maybe Tyna talking you out of pulling that fire alarm at Ballys in your swimtrunks?
Or do you really mean Fantasia, that wasted hooker you picked up (scooped) and then she shit in our rental car? The same one you again met at 2 am saying it 'was fate' and that she lived on a Bunny ranch type and you promised her a ride, but (thinking its down the street) it was really Green Valley Ranch (thinking its down the street), a retirement community where she lived w her grandma! I'd call that one... Getting on Freeway 15 with diarrhea. A 56 minute Las Vegas love story.

I remember it's 2 am and you guys were in the back seat drinking cinnamon Fireballs and she yelled about the music and then started spraying the back of my seat! We were doing like 90 down the freeway and you climbed over the front seat next to my ex who's now passed out, this girls trying to apologize and complain, we can't hear anything w all 4 windows down.....I got off the freeway right before her exit, whipped into a Burger King and was like.......GTFO! I remember saying that for 2 straight minutes and she kept saying, 'i cant move'. I get out, opened her door, she frumps out, puke over her face and chest. I get in, take off and this extreme sewage smell hit us hard! I pulled over like 20 feet from where we we're at and sure enough, just a bunch of diarrhea smeared all over the seat. I got out and start gagging. We all started gagging and there I am dry heaving next to the drunks. Used a users manual out of the glove compartment to scrape up poop. Rental car company never pounded my card for cleanup somehow. #❤HERTZ. I dropped that car off the next day in 103 degree heat, windows up when I checked out lol.

If someone has to stay near the strip instead of downtown or at Lake Las Vegas than the Palms is a good choice. They have the largest standard rooms near the strip plus as they are one block off the strip there is no resort fees. They also have free parking where as all the Ceasars and MGM properties on the strip (which is most casinos on the strip) will charge you for parking, sometimes at outrageous rates.

Being half Scottish (the rest is mostly English with 1/8th being French) I used to have the same problem with burning easily. Thankfully, I got over that early as I grew up in Southern California and just got enough sun where it didn't matter any more.

In college a friend of mine was an exchange student from Australia and he'd tell me Australia had the highest skin cancer rates in the world because most of the people were ethnically British and Irish but they were living in one of the sunniest places in the world and if you are in Northern Australia then your near the equator so the sun gets really intense.

I've learned the hard way but I always pit on factor 30 and after sun at night, you actually get a good tan that way lol... I love Lanzarote, the heat gets pretty intense too but the real danger is the winds sometimes make you think it's a bit cooler when in fact youre getting blasted by rays, seen many a lobster Brit there lol

That is the Tropicana The Palms has the AYCE Buffet which is the second highest rated buffet in Vegad. Nothing beats the Bacchanal (I mean they give you lobster, king crab, and caviar for God's sake) but you'll pay over $100 per person at Ceasars for the pleasure unless you get a coupon. I've been three times, I loved it each time, but it gets hard to justify after you already experienced it.

I always ask myself "Is this worth four buffets at the Silverton?" It is certainly an experience buffet and everyone wants to be able to say they experienced it but how often do you really to eat there given the price?

To compare, the Silverton.

The Garden Buffet at the South Point (off strip) is also an amazing deal if you make sure to go on lobster and prime rib night especially if you use the 50% off coupons they give away like water. Side note, I really like their leg of lamb and their Indian goat curry.

I remember an old joke he told me. What is redder than a lobster? A Scottish ginger after ten minutes at the beach in Australia. He knew my dad was from Scotland so he'd say joke like that. It was all in good humor though.

You can justify the price if you stuff yourself with lobster and king crab only but I like to try other things as that's the main reason you go to buffets... You'd need to be a big eater to get your moneys worth, bet there's plenty big eaters who've went beyond a hundreds worth of food...

We pour on the SPF 50 here, whether we're fair skinned or not. Tourists think they're going to spend two weeks here getting a deep tan.

Agreed. The stone crab claws sell at restaurants for $10 a piece so just eat ten stone crab claws and you got your $100.
