Never been on a cruise because they sound like a terrible way to spend time. Just surrounded by people. Yuck.
It is nice for 7 days.
You wake up...
have a nice breakfast that is prepared for you....
go on an excursion which can be anything from visiting a historical site to snorkelling to shopping to <whatever you want>...
get back on the boat and relax until dinner...
meals are prepared with fresh ingredients that they acquire from wherever they are docked, and you will see several dishes that represent the local cuisine, along with a long list of other choices, all prepared as you expect at a high-end restaurant...
then you have a choice of entertainment, including musical ensembles, solo musical acts, Karaoke, comedians, night clubs with dancing, etc. etc...
then you go to sleep and start over at a different port the next day.
There is so much to do, you never have to do the same thing twice on the same cruise. Rock climbing, mini golf, exercise equipment, basketball court, swimming pools, etc. are all there for people to enjoy. You really have to be a stick-in-the-mud to not have a good time on a cruise, IMO.
