Fukin boo hoo! Burn that shit, problem solved!

We should get them to drop it in front of your house and burn all that polyster right there. You could roast marshmallows in the flames.
I should be able to build a clothes fired power plant and become a billionaire in 1 year by supplying cheap power to the people!

Any comment on that, LettuceButt?

Do you think something like that is doable?

Can you think of any upsides and downsides to it?

Anything?

Well, yes. Most of those clothes are made with polyester. That's a very toxic burn.

Thanks for thinking, though!

What toxins are produced?

Are there ways to capture these toxins before they are released to the environment?
Produced? Polyester itself is highly toxic. Did you not know that? Burning it releases the toxins into the atmosphere. Same with nylon and acrylic.

Most of the polyester used in textiles is polyethylene terephthalate, abbreviated as PET. According to studies, 80% to 85% of PET contains a substance called antimony which is a carcinogen. It is known to be toxic for the heart, lungs, liver, skin, and can create serious health complications.

In total, up to 85% of textiles go into landfills each year. That's enough to fill the Sydney harbor annually.

“The current fashion system uses high volumes of non-renewable resources, including petroleum, extracted to produce clothes that are often used only for a short period of time, after which the materials are largely lost to landfill or incineration,” says Chetna Prajapati, who studies ways of making sustainable textiles at Loughborough University in the UK.

And....?

Anybody can post an article and quot from it or paraphrase something in it.

Do you have any insight or original thought on the subject?

Maybe she could just wear one pair of clothes for the rest of her life? That is clearly what they want everyone else to do.

You cons never fail to trot out the either/or fallacy. Thanks for being true to your "values."
