I really love that I can get my groceries delivered in an hour. With the convenience comes with added delivery costs and of course tips. To me it's very worth it.

I typically use Instacart, Safeway Delivery, Kroger Delivery, or Amazon Fresh. I never get delivery from Costco, because I have to go into my local Costco to see what great deals they have. The delivery service cost is about the same in regard to all stores, but depending on the stores one shops at, the groceries themselves fluctuate in price.

Here is my haul that got delivered 15 minutes ago.

All those meals for 1, it's the sort of thing my dad gets. That is the saddest shopping haul I've ever seen :(

We have Instacart here too I don't use it though but would assume you'd get an inside track on produce and such if you grease the shoppers hands enough.. it would have to be incentivised (?) There would have to be , there always is..

I never let anyone pick my produce. I go to the local Farmers Market on the weekends to get the bulk of my produce.

TIP: If you do use Instacart to get produce, let your personal shopper know how you want your produce...i.e..Green or not so green bananas. Usually the shoppers are pretty good at communicating. Generally, if you let them know how you want the produce, they'll try to acco odate you. Plus, returns are a snap.

I do big online shops and get them delivered for free. Also do the notes for any produce or meat sizes, plus allow substitutions on lower quality items so they get replaced with high quality free of charge. Then apply % discount codes at checkout. I generally save 25-35% these days per delivery and they do the work.

No tips. This is Australia.

I can't be assed to pay the $12.99 free delivery fee each month. I normally too get free delivery when I order over $100 worth of groceries. This latest haul cost $180. So I got free delivery. I have ordered one container of laundry detergent and it cost me $50 after everything was said and done, so it's better to buy in bulk.

We get our meat from a local butcher, we have half a cow in the freezer so we don't have to buy protein unless it's chicken or pork. Even then I go to the butcher for that.

I usually do three deliveries per week like this. Yeah, the tipping thing in America sucks. I tipped $45 on a $180 grocery bill. :OhGawd:

I have soo much respect for delivery drivers.

Here, they do such a good job. I get texted updates on the substitutions or out of stock items.

Most smart customers will either have a substitute marked down, or the no substitutions checked off. It makes it easier on the shopper.

I only had one bad instance. It was last year. Some crackhead delivery driver claimed to have delivered our groceries, but the picture they sent was 5 miles away from where I lived. We also had purchased 6 fifths of Blanton's Bourbon at $145 a bottle, so that might have had something to do with it. Other than that, the other delivery drivers were great.

Wow, tips here are from $2 to $20

Well, here in Washington State, the service industry makes a big deal about tipping. So we're usually guilted into tipping. Not from the delivery driver's themselves, but from like Instacart and others.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have to tip for every damn thing. Even the pot shops want tips after I spend $280. Incredible.

Do you ever substitute of equal or greater value if product unavailable or not in adequate weight (like a roast)? Once the charge for the order goes through here online, that's it. No helping themselves to your CC account.

That's why I choose uncharacteristic weights and brands that aren't carried or much of for the local supermarket branch in order to get big gains.

Convinced corporate has my account on monitor to close up stock loopholes for the region. I notice when they've quietly made adjustments to certain products or weight units on the website, and I have to rethink how to squeeze them differently on the type of item.

Used to get upwards of 50-60% off my orders.

It's a hobby....

Nothing wrong with saving bucket loads of money, and socking big business in the mouth at the same time.
