There was a bill just passed in Florida that forces non- MD doctors to cease referring to themselves as a "physician" and there are more pending bills to restrict prescribing privileges for optometrists and roll their scope of practice backwards so they can't do much more than prescribe glasses and contact lenses, and must remove the title of "Dr." from their name.

For weird reasons most other non-doctor professions aka dentists, chiros, podiatrists, vets are excempt from the policies these new bills are trying to enforce.

If was just starting out in the field I'd be concerned.
