@Bastard Factory @Jack
We need to seriously define 'private' here once and for all. I propose that we consider anything said in private no matter what forum it comes from to be an infraction here unless permission is given by the member who posted it. How does that sound?
It sounds like the *thud* of a jackboot stomping on the throat of the forum.
If you PM, email, etc. with someone here or anywhere else the ONLY thing preventing that conversation from becoming public is... <tries to grasp empty air> ...fuckall.
If you have a personal ethics code that includes the stipulation: 'Thou Shalt Not Poast Private Messages' that's all well and good but it can't require anyone else to follow your example. It just can't.
If you want to jog down the path of creating a new rule every time someone makes you mad pretty soon all you'll have is rules... and nobody to whom they might apply.
You don't "own" messages you exchange with someone else.
You can't dictate how those messages are or aren't used.
Instead of burying what's left of this forum under an odious pile of silly rules try insisting people take personal responsibility for their own actions and if they don't like the consequences of those actions tell 'em to fucking learn something from the experience and guard their tender feelers a little better next time.
I'm seriously disappointed I even have to spell out this shit.
