I remember back when ideas could be discussed here....

This is an example that I found in a Search I just did....

Democracies are problematic. They always have been, and they always will be.

To give an equal vote to every person when people are not equal makes no sense. The opinion (vote) of one very intelligent person is worth more than the opinions (votes) of thousands of average people.

This was less of a problem when political candidates were all intelligent and would work honestly for the best interests of the masses. But somewhere along the line, candidates were no longer selected for their intelligence and honestly, but for things like their appearance and their likeability. That does not work when running a company and that does not work when running a government.

Just imagine how bad things would be if imbeciles like Lily and Admin were allowed to decided the next 10 elections exclusively

USA's system is dependent on good leadership, at many levels of government. You don't have that any more.

As communication technology has advanced, more people have access to more information. This sounds like a good thing; it leads to a stronger democracy.

Unfortunately, many people are quite stupid. Given the choice between detailed information and cheap propaganda, they will choose the cheap propaganda. "I'll vote for Obama because he's young and hip and black and has a nice smile and diversity!"

This has all led to poor leadership choices. When you do not have a good option for a leader, you are fucked. The good:bad politician ratio has been getting smaller and smaller. You might just be fucked.

This kind of discussion doe not happen here anymore.

Instead, we have dumb people just regurgitating what they hear from MSM and political parties.
