Just five years ago, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh went on a pro-tobacco rant on his show, during which he downplayed the risks of smoking, said it’s “a myth” that secondhand smoke causes illness or death and argued that smokers aren’t at any greater risk than people who “eat carrots.”

Lotus, I made a statement a while back that I would like to rectify. I was told by my friend that her husband was collecting 100% unemployment and the $600 stimulus. I did not realize at that time that he was classified as furlough. I thought everyone on unemployment was getting the full benefit AND the stimulus, which is why I said that I wished they had given the working class the stimulus. Sorry to derail this thread... but I thought you might enjoy that.

The irony of the universe is uncanny given his online handle. I’m empathic and my defenses to people like this are limited... and I’m often blindsided online and have a hard time recovering. Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for 18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of "doctor shopping." Limbaugh also must submit to random drug tests and continue treatment for his admitted addiction to painkillers.
