This is why Santos' sentence was commuted. Trump told us himself.

In a social media post, Trump said Santos, whom he called "somewhat of a 'rogue,'" had the "Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!"

The pardon was a full on display to the Republican party that he'll shield them from criminal liability. Kind of frames up what the White House said to congressional Republicans about voting for the Epstein files release being seen as a hostile act. Vote for the release and your protection goes out the window.

Freud’s thesis on The Conservative Male

Freud's oral fixation theory suggests that conflicts during the oral stage of development (birth to 18 months), where the mouth is the primary source of pleasure and gratification, can lead to a fixation that manifests in adulthood. This can result from insufficient or excessive oral stimulation during infancy, leading to an adult's persistent need for oral stimulation, which may result in behaviors like smoking, overeating, or alcohol abuse.

The oral stage and fixation

    • Fixation causes:
An oral fixation can occur if oral needs are not met appropriately. This includes:
        • Neglect or underfeeding: The infant may not receive enough oral gratification.
        • Overfeeding or overprotection: The infant may become overstimulated or dependent.
        • Traumatic weaning: The process of weaning from the breast or bottle is difficult.
Adult manifestations of oral fixation
    • According to the theory, a failure to resolve conflicts during this stage can cause an individual to become "fixated" on oral gratification throughout their life.
    • This can result in passive or aggressive tendencies in adulthood, as well as a range of behaviors:
        • Oral habits: Smoking, nail-biting, chewing on objects, or overeating.
        • Dependence: A passive dependence on others or a manipulative personality seeking to fulfill needs.
        • Substance abuse: Behaviors like alcohol abuse may be used as a coping mechanism.
