I was reading stories about those things getting stranded in Texas cuz there was no place to charge them during the power outage.

Seems the mainstream media covered up this story, perhaps they didn't want to tarnish the image of their Golden Bo, Elon Musk. or the share price of Tesla

I have doubts about those things. For some reason, I don't trust 'em.

I've never been a fan of EV's. I personally believe electric cars to be a waste of resources. The Tesla is awesome in ludicrous mode and I'm a fan of going fast. Problem is, they have very limited times they can run like that and their performance drops off big time after the first 300 feet.

Hybrids are a much better idea. They are able to recycle power used for braking and while rolling downhill just like an EV but they have an onboard gas engine to charge on the fly, giving them a much better range.
