But power went out that one time in a blue state!

People generally don't freeze in California tho, Lokmeer as most residents there live in a balmy Meditaranean climate.
And if Illinois folk have to do without power, they're probably better prepared for it than Texans who've little experience at this sorta thing.
I imagene Illinois residents are more like those in Ontario, Canada. And the housing standards/building codes are higher/stricter too. They're better prepared for winterized conditions than Texans.
Are Illinois residents tend to have emergency backup systems if the power goes out?

Except it is not accurate. The electric companies are private companies so what we are talking about is raising the rates electric utilities charge instead of raising taxes. Really, you'd have to change legislation to compell utilities to weather proof for 2-3 times per century events because clearly the private companies don't want to spend the money on their own. Second, the Texas utility regulator already already allows utilities to buy electricity from other states, they are doing so now, but there is the problem of downed power lines. Hard to transfer power without power lines
So it is "exactly the same" except for being totally different.

The other thing the retard didn't understand is that the sar panels didn't work because they were covered in snow. The wind turbines froze up so green energy did have a higher failure rate than fossil fuels. Yes, for those of you bad at math fossil fuel power plants make up a much larger share of the total energy budget in Texas so lose even one and you get a bigger total lose but their failure rate was smaller than the green energy failure rate. Fact.
