I'm not annoyed at other people's opinions who differ from mine. I get annoyed when people say God doesn't exist and don't offer any reason why they don't believe.

Science has proven how the natural world works through physics, biology, chemistry, geology, and so on and so forth. That is my reason for why I don't believe in God, at least not in any traditional way.

I agree with you about different religions thinking that way, that's why I don't belong to any of them anymore. All Christian religions are supposed to be in harmony like an orchestra, but sadly, they are way out of tune.
Not an orchestra, but more like a punk rock show where the band jumps into the mosh pit.

I understand exactly what you are saying, but all of those components on earth and in space didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere. How can biology for example exist without living organisms? Living organisms must be created.

I think what we have here is the eternal science vs religion debate. lol I don't want to lose any friends debating this.

If you're not a believer I'm just curious to know why?

I've never been a believer, at least not that I can recall.

That's like asking me why I'm a human...
...uh, what else should I have been?

For simplicity's sake I often refer to it as being born without the god gene; just one of the things that makes me a mutant.

Even if I had been a theist at some point it would have ended the first time I really looked into the history of religious beliefs going as far back as recorded history and archeological exploration allows. When viewed objectively it's very obvious that the religions we have today were built on and sometimes incorporated previous stories myths and rituals.

They are and always have been entirely constructed by us for our own purposes.

I understand and respect your beliefs @Garraty_47 and @Lily

I guess the reality is whether we believe in God or not we are all stuck on this giant planet for a while and we just have to live the best way we can and hopefully make the right choices until we die. Myself, I can't imagine a world without God, but that's just me.

Just to be clear, I can't stand atheist groups that file lawsuits/injunctions against manger scenes or menorahs from public areas during the holiday season. It is very ironic that they are so zealous in their beliefs that its practically a religion.

Can you point me to any human being that can create all of that? Can any of us explain what it all means. If there is no God then who created all of this?
No one has ever said or even remotely suggested that humans created everything that you see when you look in the sky.

Where would you get that silly idea from?

It was created by acts of nature, not some sort of invisible hidden bearded individual that requires a certain amount of prayer before he decides to set things straight in a person's life.

When scientists can't explain something and they've hit a brick wall they will often reluctantly, admit there's a higher power to explain it.
No, they don't. Where do you get these crazy ideas from?

It's like saying "no one is an athiest when a plane is about to crash".

Yes, in fact there are. The same number that were in the plane when it took off.

Acts of nature are part of the earth. God created the earth. Who do you think is responsible for creating all of this? Shaquille O'Neal?

Have you ever considered picking up a book, maybe like on science?

I will tell you that my partner, when he was much younger, read a book called The Genesis Flood. It was written to support the stories in the Bible. It made him want to know more. He went to college thinking he was going to be an English major and be a writer. But the religious question he had made him start taking more science courses, be double majored in biology and chemistry, then got his PhD in organic chemistry. He came out of all those years of study, no longer being religious at all. Study and experiments showed how nature works to create everything. The Earth is billions of years old. Billions...enough time for nature to create what has been created.

That doesn't mean that some scientists aren't religious, they are. There are still some gaps in our understanding of the universe and Earth itself.

But evidence for God just doesn't exist in my opinion. It's a matter of faith.

I, myself, have a hard time with the idea of believing what I have no evidence for...but I cannot say a God doesn't exist. I can only say that I don't see evidence of it.

We'll just have to agree to disagree Lily because I've never seen a scientist that can mix a few potions and create an entire galaxy.

No one individual or supernatural entity with a beard who lives in the clouds created all of this.

I've found these debates go nowhere and they're a huge waste of time.

So, you think hating individuals is the same as hating entire cultures and races of people?

It's not.
Zionists hate muslims and vice versa.

Indians hate Pakistanis and vice versa.

Etc etc....

Are they worthy of your selective criticism or do they get a pass, due to their darker skin tone?

No one gets a pass for hating entire groups.

If you haven't noticed, there isn't a Muslim or Zionist here that is espousing their shit, Einstein.

You are so incredibly ignorant. A waste of time. You will never be curious enough to go beyond your basic reptilian brain to look at the world outside of yourself.
