I always leave 20% in cash ... unless the service sucks, then I leave a handful of pocket change to let the server know they sucked and I didn't just forget.

I leave 20% cash, I'll leave 15% if service is mediocre.

Though tipping is getting of hand. They want tips even when they don't provide service.

I lot of people do that here, they know we pay tax on it
If it's Door Dash or other food delivery, I leave a tip at checkout. That way they know they're getting a tip.

I stash away $5 bills for rides. I see some of the same drivers, so they know me and get me to work early in the morning. The rest that I don't know appreciate the tip. It's usually a $12 ride, sometimes $15.

I try to do that in restaurants too
Yeah. I don't get out and about that much but that's how I mostly handle it. If I'm planning on going out to eat, I have various denominations of cash to leave an appropriate tip. I might leave 25-30% if I like it. However, if a 20% tip is automatically added to the bill, that's all they're going to get and it's going on my card.

He’s been known to post fake receipts in the past, this one looks a little more legitimate, but it could also have been cobbled together in a receipt meme template

Except for the mystery blacked out portion of the receipt tally
