$25 tip is considerably less than 25% of the original charge but considerably more than 25% of the discounted amount.
An argument could be made either way: cheap or generous.

if you get a discount, proper protocol is to tip on the full amount.

One glass with a meal sounds about right to me.
Then again I don't drink much so any more than that and hopefully I'm not the designated driver.
at restaurant prices one glass is enough...as you see from the $$$ the half carafe is much more expensive than a bottle or two from the store.
And yes, the DD should only have one anyway.
I'm guessing he had the Stella and the wife and someone else shared the wine. I think they went on a pub crawl afterwards
