Over the years I've taken the Political Compass Test numerous times with virtually identical results. The one sponsored by the Libertarians with full explanations for how each answer was rated was a favorite. Of particular interest was the question on immigration/border control which correctly assigned tight border controls to Liberals, not conservatives where economics was considered which gave me confidence in its efficacy.
Enywayz - I have not seen this particular one linked first. The second is more the standard.
Amusing story re: this test among persons on this board.
One person, I persuaded to take the test, and when they landed firmly in the upper right quadrant with the fascists they refused to give their results instead ranting and raving about how fucked the test was. It's a well regarded test, of course.
How did I know what quad they were in if they didn't tell. I just knew is all...it was obvious.

You know, look how afraid people are to take a chance on dispelling their personal mythology with regard to political orientation (that is social, economic view, but also and in my view primarily spiritual developement which is essentially the principle definition I give to conservative and Liberal). As I noted in the intro, one person was so revealed to themselves by the test they refused to make know the result.

Ah, precisely the point - as was the case of the person I mentioned (not by name).
.. Often a person creates a personal mythos which when reality tested turns out to be false in whole or in part.
It might come about due to lack of understanding, in this case, of political and economic systems and/or having bought into various propagandas a person (like the one mentioned though not by name) are suceptable to.
It isn't a sanity test, at least not ostensibly regardless of what inference the results may have. It will not rate you directly on a sanity scale so, Prowler, you have no fear of the test labeling you what others have already concluded you are.
. Just take it, see where you fall.
The second one is short and not too involved. Try that one first.

Do not try to project your flaw onto other people, Holiday. You make that mistake all the time. That is why you are always so surprised when, for instance, a conservative supports a government assistance program. ..Yes, that's like the libertarian type who believe we really don't need borders or environmental laws because people always opt to do what is "right", except we know that the reason we have developed laws is that all people do not observe what might be called the rights of other people to live peaceably.
..However even then in the ideal those people have an unrealistic belief that they can live having all they desire w/o interference. Those are the nice ones, the naive. The others are those who believe force and deceipt will be the winning formula for them. They are what modern psychology would term sociopaths.
