I never planned on getting a convertible. I like the glass window over the engine so you can see the engine from the outside. You cannot see it with the convertible.

The roof is removable and it feel pretty much like a convertible when I take the roof off. It takes about 2 minutes to take it off and it fits securely in the rear trunk.

As you can see...just about everything has been moved from under the 4-post lift...so we lower it tomorrow.

Then a bunch of that stuff goes on the lift and it is raised....then the rest of it goes under the lift....and I park the Corvette where all the stuff is...

I like talking about my car.

Even though I do not understand what she is trying to imply....I like explaining why I decided against the convertible.

A lot of people also say the convertible gets more money in the resale market, but that does not matter to me as I do not usually sell my cars for a long time. I like driving the same car for years so I get a real good feel for a car. I drive my Z28 for over 20 years and knew just when the tires would let go in a curve. I am not at that point with my Corvette...yet.

I just did a search and could not find me saying anything that would give you that idea....

I talked about a car rental that was going to be a convertible....but not about my Corvette.

Anyways, I also found this from 2024....it is very similar to what I just said to X a few hours ago.....

There was no such thing as a hall monitor in my grade school. I wasa crossing guard, though. I thought about getting a convertible, but it does not have the window that shows the engine...I did not like that...plus, when I take the roof off, it is almost as wide open as the convertible. Some people said that the convertible will often increase in value more than the hard top, but that is not a concern of mine as I do not plan to sell it for many years...and when I do I will not be very concerned about how much money I get for it. X, I am quite sure you scare any decent woman who gets a good look at you. Admin, there is a reason you have been single for the past 3 decades.

I guess given enough time, I repeat myself just like Senile @Joe.

I realize some of you might not understand...in Canada we get snow in the winter so we take the insurance off sports cars and other vehicles that we will not drive in the winter.

Likewise, some people have vehicles that they only drive in the winter, so they remove the insurance in the summer.

I was kinda joking about that because the massive engine in front of the windshield would make visibility a problem with or without headlights.

And since you are unable to afford to live in Florida you can only drive your wife's Corvette just 5 months of the year of Lex @The Prowler . Otherwise you live in frozen tundra for much of the year in part of Canada where you live Lex. And there are a lotta mosquitos in the summer there too. I know because Ive been there

We could live in Florida and were considering buying a house in Florida, but decided against it because we are still very involved in a bunch of things in our own community.

I am still very involved with hockey and there is not much hockey in Florida. Also the local SPCA, the bands that I play in, our close friends, our family, etc. etc.

Our situation might change in the future, but for the foreseeable future we are going to spend most of our year here.

Also, and this is a big one, the driving in Florida is fuckin' horrendous. So much traffic. At least in the Orlando area. We will try somewhere else next time we go to Florida, because I cannot put up with that traffic in the Orlando/Kissimmee/Davenport area.


We are going to live in Arizona for a month next year. Not that you would know. When I do not post my weekly schedule, you have no idea where I am.

And they are calling for 20 degrees and sunny tomorrow.

So the plan is to take the C8 Corvette with Z51 Performance Package off the lift tomorrow.

I think even more than the skid plates on my Jeep.

I guess they do it mainly for aerodynamics.
