We had stupid liberals decriminalize theft if the total cost, per incident, was less than $950. The thieves can do as many of these thefts per day as they want as long as each time the total is less than $950. This has caused brazen and organized theft rings to pop up victimized stores over and over and over dozens of times per day. So often that even large national chains are closing down stores because theft rates are so high the stores just aren't profitable.

Most of these items end up being sold on the secondary market or on the internet of cash which is then used to buy drugs. It is big money organized crime with gangs having hundreds of these runners working for them and bringing the stolen items to them to exchange for drugs. It is completely out of control.

San Diego and parts of Orange County are still good but even they struggle under the horrible laws passed by the Democrat super majority in Sacramento. It is also pretty nice in the far north up by Oregon.
