Yet I think places like MacDonalds should allow their workers to receive tips Bigly.
Joe, how much do you tip if you go to a fairly nice restaurant (say $50/per person for a meal and two drinks)?
Poor service:
Decent Service:
Good Service:
Excellent Service:
The standard is about 15%.
I'm just making the point for even low end joints like MacDonalds, just tip something.
a quarter, a dollar, $2?
So if a 100 people do that for them in a shift, gives them extra spending money.
Starbucks allows tips and know every time I give a dollar or two in the tip jar, they really appreciate ot.
and I notice every time I come back, they smile and they try harder.
Seems that most people don't tip in those places.
But I do.
Actually I've noticed that in Macdonald's, sometimes the service is very good and fast and I get exactly what I want.
so...if these people provide fast or faster service than a high end restaurant and deliver what's expected of them...why shouldn't they get a tip?
Why does MacDonald's insist that these people don't get a tip? They should.
They deserve more than $10 an hour if they deliver.
And if MacDonald's can't make that wage shortfall up for them, then they should allow the customer to do it for them.
Optional of course, but just whatever the customer decides. Every bit helps these people.
Makes a much happier employee.
and a happier worker makes a happier customer.
