We just ordered one of those robotic mop/vacuums. It returns to it's own charging station, can be programmed with an app on a smart phone and you can even map out the house and instruct it to not go to certain areas if you want.

My doggie has one of those dual coats and was a shedding machine, I finally found a Groomer willing to take her. Groomers In this area seem to only want to work with tiny dogs like Tea Cup Yorkies etc
But whatever voodoo she does keeps Sadie relatively shed free for weeks.
We bought one as well that will suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. not a Dyson.

The one I ordered got great reviews and several specifically stated it's got good power and suction, but sure it can't possibly match a bigger machine, being that it's not much larger than a dinner plate with an upside down bowl on top of it.
We've only got tile and a couple of mats, should be good and at worst we hit it with a hand mop and the regular vacuum from time to time.

My dog likes to walk between my legs so I can scratch his hind quarters.
The stuff comes out literally in handfuls and it's almost lighter than air so it goes everywhere including up my nostrils and I start sneezing.
