anyway back in 2015, obama fixed it so Canadians could live in the states for 6 months (180 days) out of every year. So many of them bought homes.

durning those years up until this feb, no one paid any attention to the rule. Canadiens that owned homes just stayed here as long as they liked.

that changed in Feb. All canadiands coming over the border were sequestered and their visits dating back to 2015 were scrutinized for how many days they stayed.
