I remember reading once where a mother and daughter bought a mature Doberman from the local pound. The dog did have a violent history but the daughter wanted it so bad they decided to take a chance and buy it. Several days later the mother heard her daughter who was playing on the back lawn, scream. She ran out after her thinking that the dog may have bit her. Turns out the dog massacred a fairly large snake of some breed defending the girl.

I like those dog stories, Alti. We've got a neighbour we've known for over 30 years. He's a mixed bag. Lovely and at times schizophrenic. Gives most people the creeps, except me. From the moment my dog laid eyes on him, she went levitating on air with only her lead keeping her down crazy at him. She just knew he isn’t right and nothing anyone can do will stop her reaction, even me trying to intervene.

@Frood Animals especially dogs, are more intelligent then most give them credit for.

No women of any species like this guy in my village, Fred. He's very off and on meds, but his heart is in the right place... unfortunately he's a mess and probably has 100 watt output anxiety and bipolar antenna... so when most humans feel ill around him, dogs get it amplified.
