I've been to the highlands. It's gorgeous. Heart stoppingly gorgeous. I intend to get back there one day.

I've been to the Algarve three or four times and it looked good to me? The beaches were clean and there were coves you could go in with privacy and sand... There were hundreds of British and Irish pubs, cafe's and restaurants, some didn't look the cleanest and tbh I fished out the Portuguese ones and went there, I didn't want a dodgy gammon streak with chips I wanted the Piri-piri chicken and fish done over charcoals, delicious, I did go to a Brit one that was out the way, went because the food was cooked in front of you on a hot stone, you cook it yourself... Yes, hundreds of shops and restaurants catering to Brits who live there and who vacation there. Thousands of condos built for Brits. The Portuguese people can't afford to live in the Algarve anymore thanks to the Brits, and the huge popuation of Limeys is putting pressure on the available water in the region. It's a shit show.
