I do not think closing the SB will make much of a difference, unless the DOS attack is targeting the SB exclusively.

Its not a DOS attack. We are using up to much bandwidth as the site has grown.. therefore need to increase monthly server bill and get more bandwidth.

It does not matter if there are 10 messages or 10 million. That just sits on the hard drive until it is accessed. The traffic on a message board is minimal. You need to analyze the traffic and see what is being accessed. Someone is just hammering the site with useless requests. You have over 8000 lurkers and 700 robots. Block those IP addresses.

So they are saying they are not providing you with the CPU time....they might have problems with other sites. They should be reserving CPU time for BF exclusively.....or what are you paying for?
