I've lived in Texas, and one winter the snowfall literally barricaded the entire front door with maybe an inch or two clear near the top of the doorframe. Still, we were well stocked enough to outlast it, no panic-buying involved. Just maintaining a steady ready supply of non-perishables.

My family lived there for a couple years, from when I was 10 to when I was 12. Pretty nice country, as I recall. You learn shit in Texas you'd never learn anywhere else; for example: "Ah tell yew hwut!" is a complete sentence there, the meaning of which varies by context. lol
