I'm generally against military interventionism, because it's wasteful and inspires enmity toward the U.S., which jeopardizes our national security rather than advancing it. But if we were constantly being invaded by Canadian narcoterrorist cartel activity, that would be the place to send our military, to scour that shit out of the country of origin. Just as an example of the principle.
 
By contrast, the "police action" in Vietnam was fucking stupid. That country turning Commie had fuck-all to do with us and we had no business wasting blood and treasure there.
 
Establishing them as a group entity, verbally distancing them from yourself, which created a conceptual 'other group'. Yeah. You can be xenophobic about any 'other group', even a constructed one.
