Type 2 diabetes is a complex disease with multiple contributing factors. Some of the key causes include: Genetics: Family history of type 2 diabetes increases the risk.Certain gene mutations can impair insulin production or function. Lifestyle: Obesity: Excess body weight puts stress on the pancreas and increases insulin resistance. Sedentary lifestyle: Lack of physical activity reduces insulin sensitivity. Unhealthy diet: High intake of sugary drinks, processed foods, and refined carbohydrates can contribute to insulin resistance.
