I think wav/flac decompresses audio so it sounds better.

I collect classic movie downloads in mp4.... funny fact, no older movie needs to be above 600 mb unless it's been remastered. Higher file sizes don't translate to better picture, and you can fit more on a hard or flash drive.

I have a pretty big collection of vinyl which I treasure. It's the one thing I've kept.
