Nice try @Lily but here is the truth! In fiscal year 2024, the U.S. spent approximately $4.9 trillion on entitlement programs, which accounted for about 71% of total federal spending of $6.9 trillion. Entitlement spending includes major programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, which are funded through mandatory spending that continues automatically unless Congress changes the underlying law.

In fiscal year 2024, SNAP accounted for approximately 1.5% of the total federal budget, costing around $100.3 billion. This percentage has been relatively small, hovering between 1% and 2% of total federal spending over the past four decades.

Social Insurance Programs (Non-means-tested): These are the largest programs in terms of spending and participation and were designed to provide universal coverage for specific life events, primarily retirement and disability. Primary Beneficiaries: Older Adults. Adults 65 and older are nearly three times as likely as younger adults to have received an entitlement benefit over their lives, with nearly 9 in 10 older adults receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits. These programs do not have income eligibility requirements, and almost all working Americans contribute to them through payroll taxes during their careers. Means-Tested Programs (Income-based): These programs (like Medicaid,

Primary Beneficiaries: Low-income individuals and families, including children and people with disabilities. Most benefits from programs like SNAP go to households with children, elderly persons, or people with disabilities. A larger share of Black and Hispanic individuals are enrolled in means-tested programs like Medicaid compared to White individuals, reflecting different economic hardship levels.

There is a lot of fraud and chiseling going on with SNAP. I see people all the time at the store loading up on groceries and paying with an EBT card ... and then climbing into a brand new SUV in the parking lot.

Funny thing about people who defend other people on all the entitlement programs is the fact that they were pieces of shit when they were young. They’re just old pieces of shit now.
