Now that I've run @Bastard Factory's story through the wizer BS meter, I came up with what is most likely the truth. BF was stalking this poor woman who finally got the nerve to call the cops on him and get a restraining order. Her boyfriend did his part to let @Bastard Factory know that if he even so much as says "hi" to his girlfriend he's going to kick the shit out of him.

My ex girlfriend used to say that quite often. Then she went to AA. Sometimes she'd go to several meetings in one day. It was effective to some degree, she picked up a few tokens, she went long periods without drinking. It helped when we were together because I don't drink much. Last I heard she relapsed.

But at least she tried. You might want to consider it.
