I have a river rock that is heavier than a cannonball. Scratches on the black surface indicate a quartz composition. I reckon there's a gold nugget in it but to cut it open and try to sell it would bring unwanted attention from the authorities because my youngest took it from a semi protected stream known for gold but neither of us have a current miner's right certificate.
