My friend and I are gonna check out a part of the Russian River for Steel Head. It’s a very remote part of the river. Always looking for Chanterelles as well

I use to feel that way too. We always release. Especially Steel Head. The are swimming up to spawn. Super important to allow this to happen. We use barbless hooks

Due to inexperience I once landed a smallmouth bass I think it was, and when I grabbed it to remove the lure it quills on it's back stuck me. Fucking ouch!
