O negative can be given as a transfusion to almost any blood type and O positive is useful in surgery, particularly patients with a low immune-deficiency, to help fight off infection. This is why Type O blood is highly sought after by the blood banks.

No, I've never had any health issues or been in hospital for any length of time before, other than getting patched up after being in a punch up.
