I love Type O Negative. I bought that album at Harmony House in 1996 and it's been one of my favorites since lol.

I love the original but I also love this. Depends on the mood I guess ♡

I think a lot of these covers like that sound good not only because of the player, but that's how they originally sounded like.
Cuz they were composed on either the guitar or the piano with no accompaniment.
So what you hear in these solo versions are pretty close to the original - the way people were meant to be played.
And they often sound good on acoustic non-electrical instruments.

Pianos and guitars are both strings.....so anything on guitar is easily translated to piano and vice versa.

Both instruments have more in common than they dont.
