Amazon should be broken up into several companies for the Greater Good.
If not for the social good, then for the good of traditional old fashioned competitive capiitlism.
When one large corporation swallows up large well established companies employing thousands of people, this is not good for capitalism.
Like, since Amazon came along, JC Penney is no more. Payless Shoes is no more. Fry's Electronics too?
I'm sure there's dozens of examples just like that.
Amazon is destroying traditional American capiitlism.
agreed on some points. hes a self-righteous asswipe but he followed the rules and made a legit mint
he is the mega-capitalist that sort of justifies socialism but most of those 'socialists' only hate money until its feeding their own pockets
...except that monopoly capitalism isn't really capitalism.
It's corporatism and absolute power which is the antithesis of a Free Market.
That's why Republican President used the antitrust laws to break up Standard Oil more than a century ago.
Because it was a monopoly.
Are you claiming Amazon is a monopoly and you cannot buy stuff any where else? If not then it isn't a monopoly. Hell, I doubt it even has much pricing power to increase prices and most of the pricing power it has was to decrease prices by being more efficient. That is supposed to be how a market based system works where as a monopoly isn't a function market as there are no competitors.
Idiota likeotuabud are just filled with envy but she was both too lazy and too stupid to ever start her own business much less make a success out of it.
Well, if it's not a monopoly yet, it sure feels like it's going there.
I noticed places I used to shop at, not there anymore.
In large part, put outta business by Amazon.
I went to their former competitor's websites, and they redirect you to who else? Amazon.
Anyways, wasn't Amazon one of the Big Tech giants that shut down Parler in order muzzle Trump?
They have too much power.
Amazon's not just a retailer, but a Tech giant and a technology company.
That's why their power is so pervasive and somewhat dangerous.
Because they're strangling competition and even have the power to control the media and tifle freedom of expression.
Even some Liberals who were anti Trump and pro-Biden sounded the alarm about the practices of Big Tech which in no small part include Amazon.
