In 2021 the US (fed, state, and local combined) is spending $8.3 trillion on various welfare programs and dems never think it is enough and say we need to spend more even for people "who chose not to work" (AOC quote there). I do believe in short term assistance to help people back on theor feet but when something like 40% of the black population is not only chosing not to work but doing so for 3-4 generations straight... Well, the problem isn't mythical "racism". The problem is some lazy people just refuse to work and are so arrogant and entitled they think the world owes them 70-80 years of free room and board so they can sit around and commit crimes in their spare time.
Just for basic sanity that sort of stuff needs to end. Most of this is a problem of their own creation. They chose to not finish high school, they chose to never get any work experience, they continue to choose to not work then complain they are poor. There are tons of people who aren't geniuses yet still manage to do well in life simply by doing hard work and learning to manage what money they do have. No, learning to milk the government shouldn't be a way of life.
The sad thing is this mentality is spreading. We are now seeing a ton of white people in their late 30's also choosing to not work and claim disability because of drug addiction or what not and that just isn't good. They can work and policy should force them to work for a living not encourage them to drop out from the workforce.
